About Salicylic Acid
Salicylic Acid is a type of beta-hydroxy (BHA), its chemical makeup is similar to that of aspirin. Salicylic acid is very effective for treating excessively oily skin and acne outbreaks. It is fat soluble in nature so it binds to dirt and other debris that can clog your pores, and as the peel penetrate through the first layer of skin, it also pulls out all the dirt clogging the pores, leaving behind clear and open pores. While salicylic acid peels are used to dramatically reduce the appearance of acne and scars associated with the condition, it has also proven to be effective against blackheads, whiteheads, signs of premature aging, wrinkles, calluses, psoriasis and uneven skin tone in general. The healthy new skin left behind after the old flakes away is more glowy, smooth and fresh because of its pore deep cleansing effect.
